Psychological Resources for the Littleton Community: the National Register

WASHINGTON, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The effects of the tragedy in Littleton, Colorado, will be felt by parents and children all over the world, but none so deeply as the students and teachers who lived it, and the families that had to wait to hear if their loved ones were safe.  As time passes, individuals will learn to cope with this trauma in many different ways, but nonetheless, the psychological impact will be great on both individuals and the community.  It is imperative that the emotional needs of the community be met.

For those seeking professional services from a psychologist in the wake of this trauma, the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology provides a no-cost means for the public to search for qualified healthcare providers in psychology.  The public has free access to the National Register's Online Searchable Database (OSD) at http://www.nationalregister.com.  The OSD is a powerful search engine to help find a psychologist who meets criteria specified by the person conducting the search, including theoretical orientation, area of expertise, ages/groups targeted, and geographic location.

Provided is a list from the OSD of psychologists in the Littleton and Denver, Colorado, area who specialize in crisis intervention and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and who are currently credentialed by the National Register.
