FindingStone Counseling Center offers free program to help those who can’t stop thinking about food and weight.

“For some of us, the battle to attain a certain shape or size becomes an obsession,” says Judy Gifford, Director of FindingStone Counseling Center.  “The focus on food, dieting and exercise goes way beyond what is normal or healthy and leads to dangerous health effects and psychological pain.  But there are ways to call a truce.”

Helping people gain control of this internal battle is the motivation for FindingStone's participation in the National Eating Disorders Screening Program, a national outreach taking place February 14-18 across the country.  FindingStone Counseling Center is offering free, anonymous education and screenings for eating disorders on Friday, March 24, 2000 from 9:00am - 7:00pm at 4450 North 12th Street, Phoenix, AZ Local residents will be able to take a self-test for eating disorders, hear an educational presentation and talk one-on-one with a health professional.  Referrals to treatment and support services will be made as needed. Appointments for screenings may be made by calling FindingStone at 602-234-0541 x 4.
