I strongly believe
that the HEALTHIEST people come to
therapy because they DON'T let
fear or discomfort stand in their
way when it comes to wanting a
better life for themselves. I also
strongly believe that working with
the RIGHT therapist is the key to
producing the best therapy results
and experience. I help my clients
identify and break through their
negative patterns, thoughts, and
feelings and create more
meaningful, balanced and joyous
lives. In doing so, I provide a
very empathetic, nonjudgmental,
interactive, and warm therapy
environment so my clients can feel
comfortable and safe. |

I have been serving
the Brentwood (west L.A.) area for
the past 14 years, working with
individuals, families and couples.
I work with newer processes of
therapy which help my clients move
through material faster than they
could with just "talk
therapy" alone. Some of these
modalities are EMDR, NLP,
Hypnosis, Voice Dialogue
psycho-drama. I focus on
resources and help people to
develop and strengthen resources
that they have (many of which they
aren't even aware of at first). I
work with couples and family
systems, blended or step families,
communication enhancement, anxiety
disorders, depression, compulsive
disorders, eating disorders, and
victims of abuse. |

People become
depressed and anxious when they
find themselves stuck in dead-end
careers, unhappy relationships,
lost lives, doing the same things
over and over again without
changing. Often the situation
seems hopeless, but it’s not.
Here’s why: Like water
that flows over dry ground and
creates deep rivers, repeated
thoughts and feelings
"groove" inflexible
networks of activation correspond
to fixed behaviors. The more the
networks are triggered, the more
the behaviors are repeated, and
the harder they are to change.
However, through empathy and deep
exploration, I locate the feelings
behind repetitive behavior, then
"regroove" the emotional
channels, breaking the grip of
hopelessness and generating more
adaptive responses to the
challenges of the world. |

I
believe that people in pain need
to be heard and listened to.
Often, they experience others as
not understanding. I offer a safe,
professional environment where
clients can feel heard and learn
more about themselves in hopes of
creating richer and fuller lives.
I believe that therapy is most
effective when the client and
therapist are both actively
engaged. I
provide long term psychotherapy
and crisis intervention. My focus
is insight oriented work to help
patients address deeper underlying
pain and problems. Crisis
interventions are provided for
life circumstances that arises
causing distress and pain for
patients. |

I
work with clients to help them
manage anxiety, reduce depression
and gain control over their lives
by focusing on and changing
dysfunctional patterns of
behavior, i.e. drugs, alcohol,
unhealthy relationships, and other
self destructive behaviors. I
provide my clients with a warm
therapeutic environment where they
feel more secure to explore issues
and exam choices. This allows them
to both discover and gain a deeper
understanding of themselves and
their love ones while moving
towards a more balanced
self-fulfilling life. |

I
have been a psychotherapist for 30
years and I have practiced
relationship counseling for 20
years. I train other therapists in
the U.S., Europe and Canada and am
the author of three books and many
articles. I focus on all areas of
relationship issues:
communication, sexuality,
infidelity, trust, boundary
issues, children, work and money
issues, and family of origin I
will work with you if you want to
make your relationship better or
if you want help in the separation
process. I find that most problems
people have in relationships are
symptoms of deeper problems that
need to be addressed. I also work
with women's issues and
psychosomatic symptoms, as well as
mid-life crisis and aging issues.
