PARENTING THROUGH AGES AND STAGES

Parenting! It can be the toughest job in the world . . .and one of the most rewarding. But, why is the most important We are family!job the only one that comes with no instruction manual!

FindingStone Counseling Center is here to help. We are offering a series of 1 1/2 hour sessions designed to provide at least a few of the most important chapters in that missing manual.

Parenting . . . through Ages and Stages takes you from toddlers  to teens by providing the techniques that really work. Material geared to the age and the developmental level of your child is presented in the first half of the session  followed by ample time for questions and answers, discussion of a "problem of the week," and opportunities for sharing with a supportive group of committed parents just like you.

Topics include:

  • Parenting your 1-4 year old.
  • Parenting the  Young Child to Pre-teenager.

  • Parenting through the Teenage Years.

ACTIVE PARENTING

  • Parenting can be easier!

    • Discipline your child without violence
    • Prevent problems
    • Build a loving bond with your child
    • Care for yourself, as well as your childLove by the armful!

Active Parenting is a 6 week course based on the work of Alfred Adler. Using the concepts of natural and logical consequences, and teaching courage and responsibility, the course takes participants through the foundations of "active" rather than 'reactive" parenting. Active Parenting is a video based, therapist led program developed by Michael Popkin, Ph.D, a child and family therapist and a national expert on parent education.
